The Christina Owens Scholarship is a one-year scholarship award of $1,000, available to any graduating senior from Harlan High School who wishes to continue their pursuit of education in their chosen field of study at the college of their choice. The selected student must graduate from Harlan High School and be accepted to an institute of higher learning upon their application. The award will be presented to the selected graduate at the annual Harlan County Scholarship Banquet.

The recipient of the Christina Owens Scholarship is a student who:

• Achieves a high degree of scholastic achievement

• Is involved in extra-curricular activities at school and in the community.

• Rises to leadership positions and leads by example.

• Shows a willingness to give of themselves for the benefit of others.

• Embodies integrity in all they do.
